Tenacious D Virtual Book Tour: “Post-Apocalypto: The Graphic Novel”

by Kim March on August 4th 2020

Tenacious D’s Post Apocalypto universe had been floating around for a few years, being introduced back in 2018 with a studio album and its ensuing tour. In 2019, Jack Black and Kyle Gass connected with ex-Pittsburgh Post-Gazette cartoonist Rob Rogers—who was very publicly laid off because of his Trump-skewering panels—to discuss the political weight of cartoons with us, and now, finally, the last piece of the puzzle has arrived. The graphic novel “Post-Apocalypto: The Graphic Novel” landed September 15, and despite the pandemic, there was a (virtual) book signing.

The sold-out event included stops in New York City (c/o McNally Jackson), San Francisco (The Booksmith), and Los Angeles (The Last Bookstore) with the staff of each abetting bookstore hosting the pair over Go Lively. In case no future dates are announced, you’ll have to settle for a copy of the book, which you can find here.
